Hey guys! Pepijn Hufen here, CEO of the Smart Marketer Agency.
Listen, AI is fundamentally changing the game for advertisers.
Incorporating AI into your daily workflow can save you a ton of time, skyrocket your productivity, and give you a massive advantage in a rapidly changing business landscape.
Just how powerful is this new technology?
Well, I recently used our new free AI tool—along with ChatGPT and Meta AI—to create 750 Facebook ads in about 30 minutes for one of our agency clients. (Yes, really.)
Here’s how I did it—and how you can, too.
(If you really want to copy this process, watch my YouTube video where I walk you through every step and every tool I use.)
Step 1: Generate Hooks with Deep Research
Before you start generating ads, you need hooks that resonate.
To find those hooks I used an awesome free tool we built called Smart Marketer AI. This is a library of customizable direct response marketing prompts, and it only takes a second to sign up if you want to follow along.
In the tool, I used the Deep Research Hook Generator to come up with 15 specific, high-converting ad hooks.

AI Input
First, I fed the generator detailed brand info for our client Ink+Volt, like:
- Their product: Dashboard Deskpad
- Their customer avatar: women 30+, high income, busy with career + life
- And their biggest competitor: Intelligent Change
The tool then gave me a fully customized prompt that I could drop into ChatGPT for Deep Research.
(Note: It takes 10–15 minutes to run Deep Research, so at this point I moved on to step 2 while I waited for my output.)
AI Output
Once ChatGPT finished its research, it came back with some golden insights on emotional triggers for the brand, like:
- Stress relief + burnout prevention
- Regaining control and clarity
- And replacing chaotic digital tools with calming paper
Some hooks it delivered?
- “She turned chaos into calm—with one simple tool.”
- “Your phone isn’t making you productive. Try paper.”
- “Stop using to-do apps. They’re killing your focus.”
Our prompt also tells ChatGPT to include the psychology behind each hook. I love doing this for 2 reasons:
- It helps guide our copy creation process later on
- And in my experience, asking AI for the “why” behind something helps it deliver better output
Step 2: Teach AI Your Brand Voice
Generic AI copy = generic results.
So while Deep Research was running, I went again to the Smart Marketer AI. I pulled up the Brand Voice Prompt and customized it using writing examples from Ink+Volt (the more examples the better).

I then took the updated prompt and popped it into ChatGPT, and had it analyze the tone, personality, and values.
It came back with insights like:
- Warm, enthusiastic, uplifting tone
- Energetic, emotionally expressive language
- Themes: productivity with joy, thoughtful design, simplicity with impact
This brand prompt ensures everything ChatGPT writes sounds like us—not like a robot.
(And it works for more than just your ads. This Brand Voice Guideline also helps improve your emails, pages and social posts.)
Step 3: Generate 15 Ad Copy Variations
Then I went back into the Smart Marketer AI tool and used the Meta Ads Copy Generator Prompt.

I combined:
- Our top 15 hooks, each w/ a short summary of the psychology behind it
- Brand Voice Guideline
- Product + avatar descriptions (from earlier)
ChatGPT gave me 15 unique ad copy variations—one for each hook.
From there, I did the final 10% of the work: editing, improving, and fine-tuning.
Here’s one of my favorites:

This copy hit all our brand notes: emotional, grounded in benefits, visually descriptive.
(Want to see all 15 ad copy variations? Watch the YouTube video.)
Step 4: Use Meta AI to Multiply Your Results
At this point, I had 15 solid ad copy variations.
The next move was to hop into the Meta Ads Manager and use Meta AI to generate 5 copy variations per ad.
(In my experience, Meta isn’t that great at finding hooks—we provide ChatGPT with so much context for that—but it’s really good at rewriting existing hooks.)
I started with the “try paper” example above. Meta gave me variations with:
- The same hook, but new intros (“Tired of feeling scattered?”)
- Different benefits emphasized (“Unlock productivity” vs “Discover mindful planning”)
- Modified bullet points, tone, and structure
Sure, some are just tweaks—but even small changes can be huge for performance.
15 ad copies x 5 AI variations = 75 total ads.
Step 5: Generate 10 Creative Variants Per Ad Copy
The final step: to produce actual creatives.
I simply uploaded a product image, and Meta AI automatically:
- Added backgrounds
- And added overlays
By tweaking just these 2 elements you can create a wide variety of ads—and from there you can also adjust fonts, add your brand logo, etc.
This gave me 10 visual variations for each ad.
75 ads x 10 creatives = 750 total ad variations.
Do You Really Need 750 Ads?
Not necessarily—and sure, every ad won’t be amazing—but that’s not the point.
The point is: with the right prompts, processes, and tools, you can now generate a lot of quality ad creative really fast.
You can literally go from zero to launch-ready in minutes, without sacrificing brand voice or overall ad quality.
What Did I Learn from this Experiment?
First and foremost: that AI is an unbelievable tool for business owners (and especially smaller brands) because it’s making high-quality copy and creative much more accessible.
On top of that:
- This is just the start. This is the worst AI will ever be, and we will likely see exponential development over the next few years. here.
That also means that if you’re an agency or freelancer, your job is shifting—from creator to strategist.
But friends, the future is clear:
Use AI daily.
It’ll save you time, boost your creativity, and give you a massive advantage in the changing business landscape.
