Turn On To America (T.O.T.A.) was founded in 1970 by a small group of Oakland business people who wanted to help anyone who, in any way, wished to improve his or her life. The charity was created as a vehicle for anonymous giving.
We are an all-volunteer charity. With no cost of administration and minimal operational costs, one hundred percent of every dollar donated goes directly to provide food, clothing, toys and other goods to T.O.T.A.’s recipients.
T.O.T.A. was designed so that society’s surplus could be distributed to those parts of society in need. Since its inception, we have provided, through a variety of programs, food, clothing, toys and shelter for families and individuals.
T.O.T.A. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity.
